Burger King Expands Presence in China

Burger King Worldwide Holdings Inc. (Miami) has partnered with the Cartesian Capital Group and members of the Kurdoglu family, who are currently franchisees, with the goal of opening 1000 Burger King restaurants in China during the next five to seven years.

“Expanding our brand’s presence in China further exemplifies our company’s commitment to strengthening our global restaurant portfolio and establishing a strong brand presence in key growth markets around the world,” says Elias Diaz Sese, president, BK Asia Pacific.

The company launched a similar venture in Brazil last July, and recently announced plans to expand in Russia as well.
