Burger King Parent Buys Firehouse Subs

Restaurant Brands International (Oakville, Canada) has purchased Firehouse Subs for $1 billion, reports CNBC. RBI is the parent company of Burger King.

“We see tremendous potential to accelerate U.S. and international growth at Firehouse Subs with RBI’s development expertise, global franchisee network and digital capabilities,” Restaurant Brands CEO Jose Cil said in a statement.

Firehouse is the fourth brand in RBI’s portfolio, which includes Burger King, Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen and Tim Hortons. Founded in 1994, Firehouse has about 1200 locations in the U.S. and is projecting $1.1 billion in sales for 2021. Most of its locations are operated by franchisees.
