Cabela's, an outfitter of hunting, fishing and outdoor gear, planted roots in 1961 when Dick and Mary Cabela began selling fishing flies that they had purchased at a furniture show in Chicago.
Today, the company operates retail, mail-order catalog and web site divisions, reaching customers in 50 states and 120 countries.
To celebrate its Spring Expo at its new Hamburg, Pa., location – its first on the East Coast – Cabela's sought a new signage system for its p-o-p program that would complement the retailer's established look and distinctive outdoor brand image. Additionally, the system would have to meet several logistical problems driven by the store's unique decor and construction, which includes large vertical rock pillars.
To hang vertical and horizontal banners inside the store, Cabela's sought a system that would draw attention to the message, not the signage hardware, and that would not damage the pillars.
A solution was found in the VersaMount™ system from Rose Displays Ltd. (Salem, Mass.), which attaches horizontally to the vertical pillar using a strong magnet base. To hang its rectangular banners from the store's horizontal beams, Cabela's choose Rose Display's AnoGotcha™ system.
“The system caused no damage to the uprights and provided the camouflage effect we requested,” says Jeff Parsons, Cabela's retail signage manager. “The system is also easy for store staff to install.”
