Call for entries: The International VM Awards

Entries are now being accepted for The International VM Awards 2019, the scheme that recognizes and rewards the very best examples of visual merchandising from around the world.

A judging panel of industry experts, chaired by Retail Design World editor Matthew Valentine, will choose winners in 11 categories. Retailers, brands, and VM agencies and suppliers are eligible to submit entries. The entry deadline is February 8, 2019.

The judges this year are Magasin du Nord head of VM Aoife Blicher; Foot Locker visual merchandising director Clare Otte; and L’Oreal Luxe retail design and VM director Daphne Duttileux.

Winners of the scheme will be announced at Retail Expo in May.

The awards scheme has developed significant international support, with entries from locations including Singapore and the Philippines.

The 2018 winners were:

Beauty and Cosmetics: Neom – Leeds Store

Best use of Digital: Vodafone

DIY, Homewares and Garden Centres: Pentatonic

Grocery – including supermarkets, food and drink: Kinder Surprise

Sports goods, toys, hobbies and pet care: Lululemon – Breath it All in

IT, Telecomms and Electricals: Vodafone

Shopping centres, towns and airports: SM Aura Premier – A Christmas Under the Sea

Most outstanding feature or prop: SM Aura Premier – A Christmas Under the Sea

Fashion, Footwear and Jewellery: Michael Kors – Watches

Department stores: ABC Sal

Overall Winner: ABC Sal
