The corner location of Carlton Cards'new prototype in the Santa Anita Fashion Center, Arcadia, Calif., gave designers the opportunity to create a unique entrance statement. Jencen Architecture, Cleveland, designed a scored entryway with a roller coaster-inspired top, paired with a corner-wall sculpture topped by an 11-ft. teddy bear. Playful shapes and colors set the tone for the store. For added interest, flooring in the corner feature area extends out into the mall space.
