Charming Charlie to Debut in New York

Private label accessories and apparel chain Charming Charlie (Houston) will open its first Manhattan store tomorrow, according to Women’s Wear Daily. The 16,000-square-foot flagship, located at 445 Fifth Avenue spans three floors, two of which are sales floors, while the top floor will house the company’s press office. In addition to its regular product lines, the store will carry merchandise designed exclusively for the New York location.

The sales floors echo the design of the chain’s 350 existing stores, but with additional decorative elements unique to the flagship, including pieces of art chosen specifically for the location, a company spokesman told WWD. The space features walnut flooring laid in a herringbone pattern, a locally-sourced marble and granite staircase and custom furniture, including pink Tibetan lambskin chairs.

While a new Charming Charlie store typically takes 60 days to create, construction of the flagship, which included an exterior restructuring and the installation of 30-foot glass panels, spanned six months.
