Chico’s Hires Walmart Exec

Chico’s FAS (Fort Myers, Fla.) has announced that it has hired Shelley Broader to become the company’s president and ceo, effective Dec. 1. She will also join its board of directors.

Broader was most recently president and ceo over Walmart’s (Bentonville, Ark.) operations in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. She has more than 25 years of executive experience with retailers including Walmart and Michaels (Irving, Texas).

She will be succeeding David Dyer, who is retiring.

Broader was named No. 14 on Fortune’s Most Powerful Women, Europe, Middle East and Africa list this year, reports Fortune.
