Chico’s Stock Rises

Chico’s (Fort Myers, Fla.) stock rose 9.2 percent yesterday after Bloomberg reported that the company was considering a sale.

Women’s Wear Daily reports that Stefan Kaluzny’s Sycamore Partners (New York) approached the fashion retailer as well as other private firms. Sycamore Partners was reportedly in talks with the company earlier this year.

Sycamore Partners is best known for clothing brands including Aéropostale (New York), Coldwater Creek (Hingham, Mass.), Hot Topic (City of Industry, Calif.), Nine West (White Plains, N.Y.), and Torrid (City of Industry, Calif.).
