City Market, a high-end supermarket in Magno Centro, Mexico, taps the senses to evoke the feel of an elegant European gourmet market. To draw attention in a challenging location – in the basement of a mall – a bright, open glass façade with a black-granite and steel frame offers clear sightlines into the store.

Once inside, strong colors and graphics highlight specialty areas for food, wine and cooking demonstrations. And stainless-steel fixtures and displays combined with warm woods, colorful glass mosaics and decorative pendants imbue a soft yet contemporary attitude.
