Cold Stone Creamery Goes to Asia

Cold Stone Creamery (Scottsdale, Ariz.) is expanding its international presence with two locations in the Philippines and Bangladesh, according to QSR Magazine. The parent company of Cold Stone Creamery, Kahala (Scottsdale, Ariz.), signed a 10 year agreement with Arizona Ice Cream Corp. in the Philippines and with Olive Tree Foods Ltd. (London) in Bangladesh.

Olive Tree is expected to open its first Cold Stone in Bangladesh in 2013 with the ultimate goal of opening four stores in the next four years. Arizona Ice Cream is looking to open 15 locations in the Philippines over the next five years, with the first opening in mid-2013.

Cold Stone began its international expansion in 2005 when it opened a location in Tokyo. Today, more than 420 international locations are in operation in countries such as China, South Korea, Singapore, Nigeria, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates and Canada, among others, according to QSR Magazine.
