Costco to Open Furniture Showroom in Anchorage, Alaska

Membership-only retail chain Costco (Issaquah, Wash.) announced plans to open an appliance and furniture showroom in Anchorage, Alaska, according to Anchorage Daily News.

Costco has a warehouse in Anchorage, and the showroom will be located near it, occupying a space that was once a Toys R Us. The retailer opened a second warehouse earlier this month in the city.

With the new showroom, customers will be able to browse and try home appliances and furniture before ordering items online for home shipment.

Costco did not confirm a possible opening date for the showroom.
