Crown Jeweler in Harvey Nichols

A&G Group (London), which owns the Asprey and Garrard brand names for jewelry, silver, leather, clothing and accessories, has announced an agreement to open two Garrard boutiques in Harvey Nichols stores in Manchester and Knightsbridge.

It has also revealed that, as part of its plan to start introducing the brand in the United States, Garrard will open a suite on New York's Fifth Avenue this summer, bringing a private shopping experience in advance of a major store launch in New York.

The two Harvey Nichols shops are expected to open in autumn 2003. The Manchester shop will coincide with the opening of the new Harvey Nichols store there. The Knightsbridge shop will be part of that Harvey Nichols store's ground floor redevelopment.

The Garrard shops will occupy key spaces within the ground floors of Harvey Nichols in both London and Manchester, with boutiques of 430 and 540 square feet respectively. They will showcase the most popular Garrard collections, including diamonds, silver, gifts and precious accessories. The stores, created by British designer Tom Bartlett, will incorporate many of the features of the new Garrard flagship store on Albemarle Street in London.

“Since opening, Garrard has seen interest in its products grow on a monthly basis amongst clients, press and celebrities,” said A&G ceo Gianluca Brozzetti. “This collaboration with Harvey Nichols, one of the world's most prestigious retailers, further reinforces the appeal of the brand.”

Garrard was launched in London in 1735 and has been serving as crown jeweler for over 150 years. Most recently, it has been under the creative direction of Jade Jagger.
