CVS/pharmacy Enters Puerto Rico

Retail pharmacy CVS/pharmacy (Woonsocket, R.I.) will open two stores in Puerto Rico next week, in San Juan and Bayamon. Additional locations in Arecibo, Bayamon (2 sites), Dorado, Fajardo, Vega Alta and Vega Baja, are planned for later in the year.

“We are pleased to introduce the CVS/pharmacy brand to the growing Puerto Rico market,” says Larry Merlo, president of CVS/pharmacy.

The Puerto Rican stores will include a full-service pharmacy, health and beauty products, general merchandise and digital photo-processing. The company is also partnering with many local vendors and suppliers in Puerto Rico to offer more than 12,000 products sourced from local companies.

CVS/pharmacy is the retail division of CVS Caremark Corp., which operates more than 7000 CVS/pharmacy and Longs Drug stores.
