CVS's Beauty Experiment

CVS has implemented an interactive, teen-focused program in it stores called “Grl Lab.” The drugstore chain's new beauty center offers everything from makeup to handbags.

With a little pharmacy flair, the display features Periodic Table-like signage, reading “Never Has going to lab been this much fun,” and a flower in a beaker-vase logo. Cover Girl's in-store wall unit, called Shade Central, anchors the Grl Lab with an interactive shade selector and new products. The other three sides of the fixture display more beauty products, stuffed animals, photo frames, stationery, diaries and handbags, to name a few. By the end of this month, 2800 of the chain's 4200 stores are slated to open the new beauty department.
