Design Within Reach Names Four VPs … and More

HIRINGS AND PROMOTIONS

Design Within Reach (San Francisco) has promoted the following: Bethany Kemp, to vp of studio systems; Kari Woldum, to vp of merchandising; and Sandra Hansel, to vp of sales. In addition, Michael Sainato has rejoined the retailer of modern furniture as vp of creative and marketing.

Martin Professional (Aarhus, Denmark) has hired Mike Walker as sales director for the U.K. entertainment market.

STORE OPENINGS

AT&T (Dallas) has opened a wireless retail store in the Lincoln Mall Plaza in Lincoln, R.I., its ninth locale in that state.

Krispy Kreme Doughnut Corp. (Winston-Salem, N.C.) has opened a 2000-sq.-ft. neighborhood shop in Wake Forest, N.C.

Pompei A.D. (New York) said it has retained Rubenstein Public Relations (New York) to increase visibility for the company's design work and for its founder, Ron Pompei, among retailers and real estate developers.

AWARDS

Focus Lighting (New York) announced that two restaurant projects it worked on – the Aureole in New York and Bourbon Steak in Scottsdale, Ariz. — recently received Lumen Awards for their architectural lighting designs from the Illumination Engineering Society.

J. Tucci Construction (New York) was recently honored by the Greater New York Construction User Council for its work on the ESPRIT Flagship store, which was named New York City’s Top Retail Construction Project of 2010.
