Dick’s Launches Women’s Specialty Boutiques

Dick’s Sporting Goods Inc. (Coraopolis, Penn.) has announced that it will be launching a specialty women’s fitness and lifestyle boutique, Chelsea Collective. The company plans to open the first of these two boutiques in August, with locations in Pittsburgh and Tysons Corner, Va.

The store is named after New York’s Chelsea neighborhood and will seek to simultaneously appeal to shoppers' fitness and fashion interests. It will offer performance wear apparel, fitness equipment, footwear as well as accessories and beauty products. Brands will include Nike, Calia by Carrie Underwood, Alala, Le Sport Sac and Philosophy.

According to Women’s Wear Daily, Chelsea Collective is intended to compete with stores such as Lululemon and Athleta.
