Donna Karan Leaves Company

Donna Karan, founder and chief designer of Donna Karan International (New York), announced that she is leaving the company, though she will remain in an advisory role.

According to The New York Times, the brand’s parent company, LVMH (Paris), has no immediate plans to replace Karan as a designer. The company plans to suspend the main Donna Karan collection, forgoing a show this fall at New York Fashion Week, and plans instead to focus its efforts on developing the DKNY brand.

Karan plans to dedicate her time and resources to growing her wellness foundation Urban Zen.
