Downtown San Francisco Shopping Center to Undergo Renovation and Get a New Name

Big changed are planned for Westfield San Francisco Centre.

The downtown shopping center will undergo renovation, and it’s being renamed, Retail Dive reports. Going forward it will be known as the Emporium Centre San Francisco, a reference to the Emporium department store that occupied the space in the 1800s.

Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield, which previously owned the property, turned over the keys to its lender last year. A San Francisco Superior Court judge has named Trident Pacific to manage the center. JLL has been named by Trident Pacific to serve as leasing agent and property manager.

“The foundation of this site has spectacular elements with the historic dome and Beaux-Arts façade, which remain attractions and define its stalwart history,” said Lane Wade of JLL, according to Retail Dive.
