Eddie Bauer Geared for Target

While Eddie Bauer (Redmond, Wash.) may be introducing more office-appropriate outfitting in its stores, the brand is pursuing more exposure for its new outdoor adventure products in another retailer's yard. Starting in February, Target Stores (Minneapolis) will carry “Eddie Bauer Gear,” the brand's newest collection of equipment for family and recreational campers.

The distribution is part of a licensing agreement between Bauer and American Recreation Products, which will design, market and manufacture the products.

Eddie Bauer is also experimenting with an updated retail look, which debuted last fall in suburban Chicago. For details on the new look, see VM+SD's March issue.

Target operates 977 stores in 46 states.
