Elder, But Wiser

Elder-Beerman Stores (Dayton, Ohio), whose new-concept store in Warsaw, Ind., won an Award of Merit in the recent ISP/VM+SD International Store Design Competition, has announced plans to open its sixth such store, near DuBois, Pa. By the end of the year, the retailer expects to have eight of the new stores up and running.

The new store – featuring smaller space, more open-sell and centralized customer service centers – will open in a mall in Sandy Township in the fall.
