EUROCIS 2022 Postponed to May 31 – June 2

(PRESS RELEASE) Due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic and especially the rapid spread of the Omikron variant EuroCIS 2022, The Leading Trade Fair for Retail Technology, will be postponed from its February date. The event will now be held from May 31 – June 2, 2022, at the fairgrounds on Düsseldorf, Germany. The organizer Messe Düsseldorf decided on this new date in close consultation with the exhibiting companies and participating partners because of the dynamic infection situation and the continued uncertainty regarding travel and quarantine requirements in the individual European countries.

“Retailers are urgently waiting for EuroCIS, because nowhere are innovation cycles as short as in retail technology, and EuroCIS is the industry’s most important innovation and business platform. We want to give all those involved in the retail industry, which has been particularly affected by the pandemic, the ability to plan reliably. For this reason, we have decided to postpone the event. We expect a strong EuroCIS in early summer with a high level of international participation, in an overall situation that is no longer so massively dominated by Covid-19,” stated Erhard Wienkamp, Managing Director of Messe Düsseldorf.

The EHI Retail Institute is also in favor of postponing the trade show by three months. “With the many unknowns currently in connection with Covid-19, there is a high risk for exhibitors in terms of the necessary trade show planning, the associated investments and the achievement of their trade show goals. Therefore, we welcome a date shift to the end of May, with the aim of being able to do justice to the “EuroCIS brand” again then. This is entirely in the interests of exhibitors and trade fair visitors,” said Michael Gerling, Managing Director of the EHI Retail Institute.

Elke Moebius, Project Director of EuroCIS, expresses her gratitude for the good cooperation with all partners and the extraordinary loyalty of the exhibitors with regard to EuroCIS: “We are glad that we were able to agree on the new date in close consultation with the EHI, major exhibitors as well as many other partners.
