Faconnable Appoints New President

Faconnable (New York) has named long-time men’s wear executive Bob Green as president. Green, who most recently was executive vp, St. John, has also served as ceo of Vestimenta USA and executive vp, sales and marketing, for Ermenegildo Zegna and J. Schoeneman.

He told DNR that his initial goals are to continue the company’s partnership with Nordstrom, to continue opening its own retail stores and to begin opening a wholesale distribution in America.

Faconnable was purchased for $210 million last year by M1 Group, a diversified family-owned company based in Beirut, Lebanon. M1 bought the business from Nordstrom. The brand has estimated sales of about $220 million.

The company plans to open three new stores in 2009 and is also completing its new headquarters at 48th Street and Fifth Avenue in New York, where Green will be based.
