Top executives from four digital signage providers will offer insights into the challenges and opportunities associated with finding funding during a panel discussion at the upcoming Strategy Institute’s Digital Signage Investor Conference. The discussion will take place Thursday, October 12th, at the Park Central New York Hotel, New York.
Slated to take part in the roundtable are: Ken Goldberg, ceo, Real Digital Media (RDM, Sarasota, Fla.); Jason Kates, president and ceo, RMS Networks (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.); Mike Ribero, ceo, Reactrix Systems Inc. (Redwood City, Calif.); and James Lavelle, ceo, Watchit Media (Las Vegas).
The discussion will focus on “war stories” experienced by those industry executives, who have gone through the experience of raising money for their companies. Among the topics the session is expected to cover are:
• Who is your best confidant? Lawyer? Accountant? Investment Banker?
• What were the unexpected pleasant surprises?
• What should have been done differently?
• How should a pitch be packaged?
• What were the most unexpected questions?
RDM’s Goldberg will focus on so-called angel capital, which is money from individuals that’s funneled into start-up companies.
“Any business seeking to grow in a dynamic industry like digital signage is going to have significant capital requirements,” says Goldberg. “The industry demands a variety of disciplines and business development relationships to succeed. Developing those relationships takes time, and time means money. Considering the divergence of business models and technologies, convincing investors your vision is the one that is on the mark is the art of the pitch. Real Digital Media has had success managing the capital raising process, and I look forward to sharing insights with my peers and attendees. We are excited to support this industry-first event, and look forward to the opportunity to add to the agenda.”
The registration fee for the conference is $1995. For more information, go to: www.strategyinstitute.com/101106_digisign_inv/dsp_digisign_inv.php
