First Gap Store in India

Gap (San Francisco) is set to open its first store in India on May 30. The 10,000-square-foot flagship store will be located in Delhi’s Select CityWalk mall.

The company told Women’s Wear Daily that it plans to launch 40 stores in the country over the next five years, with five to seven stores planned to open there over the next year.

The stores will include men’s, women’s and babies wear all under the same roof and will feature the same fashions as customers could find in American Gap stores. Prices are also expected to be about the same as customers would find in the chain’s U.S. stores.
