Management Changes:

FAME (Minneapolis retail brand agency) has hired Amie Valentine as vp and associate creative director. She most recently served as associate creative director at Peterson Milla Hooks.

IESNA (Illuminating Engineering Society of North America, New York, trade association) has named Paul Tarricone editor of LD A, Lighting Design Application, and the Journal of the Illuminating Engineering Society.

American Renolit Corp. (Whippany, N.J., plastic film development and production) has hired Jim Barnett as market development manager, window films. Barnett will be responsible for developing North American business for the company.

Relocations:

SIT/Seating Interiors Themes, a division of Thomas L. Hoskins II Design, has opened a showroom in Cincinnati at 7850 Beechmont Ave., Cincinnati, OH 45255. Phone: 513-474-8700. The space showcases the company's commercial and residential chair collections.

Business Briefs:

Davaco (Dallas retail services company) has completed 163 site surveys for JoAnn Fabrics. The initiative covered locations in 36 states and was completed in 12 weeks, as part of JoAnn Fabrics' effort to reassess its store operations.

Daniel's (Grand Rapids, Mich.), a contemporary apparel collections store for men and women, will open a 15,000-square-foot store in September in Terazzo, the European-inspired retail center in Grand Rapids, Mich. The project is being developed by the Hurwitz family, owners of Daniel's and Rogers Department Store.

The Association of Registered Interior Designers of Ontario (ARIDO, Toronto professionals association) has named new representatives to its board of management: Joseph Pettipas, vp, HOK Canada, president; Victoria Horobin, KBH Interior Design, past-president; Linda Boorman, principal, Linda Boorman Interiors, president elect; Andrew Gallici, Watt IDG, vp, programs; Linda Makins, Makins Ladna Design, vp, finance.

Awards &Competitions:

The Association of Registered Interior Designers of Ontario (ARIDO, Toronto professionals association) has named five individuals as ARIDO fellows: Lorraine Tierney, director of marketing for IIDEX/NeoCon Canada; Marilyn Donoghue, president of Design Intl., Ottawa; Carole Howlett, senior consultant for MCD Design Group; John Kitamura, retired ARIDO member; and posthumously, Alan Fairbrass, former ARIDO president.
