This Subway Doesn't Stop

Subway Restaurants (Milford, Conn.) has announced the opening of its 18,000th location worldwide.

The landmark restaurant is in El Monte, Calif., east of Los Angeles between the San Gabriel and Rio Hondo rivers. It's an area known as the “End of the Santa Fe Trail.”

The location features the chain's new Tuscany décor, which has adopted a new color scheme and updated logo, graphics, lighting and materials. It was developed for the 37-year-old restaurant franchising company by Design Forum (Dayton, Ohio). For more information on the new Subway design, and other restaurant and supermarket design innovations, see the May issue of VM+SD magazine.
