Management Changes:

Mires (San Diego branding firm) has hired Paulina Monterrubio as a graphic designer, Kate Sheahan as a marketing assistant/project manager and Angela Quebedeaux as an administrative assistant.

Pipp Mobile Storage Systems Inc. (mobile shelving supplier) has promoted Christine Maloney to dealer assistant manager, while Caren Parker has been hired as project manager to coordinate nationwide installations.

Business Briefs:

Hafele America Co. (Archdale, N.C., hardware technology supplier) has completed a new 330,100-square-foot distribution center and office at 19461 S. Harborgate Way, Los Angeles.

RPI (Marlette, Mich., manufacturer of furniture for public spaces) has announced an agreement to distribute environmentally friendly benches, bollards and bollard lights produced by MWH (Germany).

Martin Professional (Aarhus, Denmark, light manufacturer) is establishing a manufacturing facility in Zhuhai, China. Production is expected to start by 2003.

Store Openings/New Contracts:

AkarStudios (Santa Monica, Calif., design firm) has been commissioned to create a new retail concept for the Hollywood Bowl Store in Los Angeles. The new design will feature greater brand-name visibility, larger visuals and modern fixtures.

Relocations:
