Forth & New Towns

Gap Inc. (San Francisco) has announced seven new locations for its Forth & Towne brand in Seattle, Houston and Atlanta.

The first Seattle store is planned for October at Pacific Place, followed by a store at Alderwood scheduled for November. The first Houston store is expected to open in September at The Galleria, followed by a store at Market Street in The Woodlands, scheduled to open in October. The first Atlanta stores are set to open at Perimeter Mall and The Avenue Webb Gin in September, followed by a store at The Avenue East Cobb in November.

“Seattle's retail industry is booming,” said Forth & Towne president Gary Muto. “Shopping is an art in Houston, and we think women there will respond well to the chic, grown-up styles and amazing shopping experience at Forth & Towne. And Atlanta is a great market for Forth & Towne, as women there have an eye for translating trends in a chic, wearable way — and they have an appreciation for outstanding customer service.”

Forth & Towne, which was debuted by Gap in August 2005 as a concept for older women, had announced plans earlier this year to open in five new markets this fall: Atlanta, Houston, Los Angeles, San Francisco/San Jose and Seattle. The retailer said it expects to open 12 store locations in these new markets, which would bring the total number of Forth & Towne stores to 17.
