Goody's Family Clothing Inc. (Knoxville, Tenn.) has named visual merchandising executive John Wise as senior vp, marketing and advertising.
Wise joined Goody's in 2000 as vp of visual merchandising. He had previously been with Sears Roebuck and Co. (Hoffman Estates, Ill.), where he served as a district general manager, overseeing expense planning and execution, merchandising presentation and human resources for 17 Sears stores. At Sears, he had also been manager of the retailer's private brand strategy, responsible for developing proprietary brands along with shop concepts, coordinated fixtures and signage.
In related management moves, Goody's named Ralph Hauze vp, advertising creative, and Daniel Floersch vp, advertising production. Hauze had been director of direct marketing at Goody's since 1999, and had previously been advertising director at Stein Mart Inc. (Jacksonville, Fla.). Floersch had been director of advertising production since 1998. He had previously been director of production at Payless Cashways (Kansas City, Mo.).
Goody's operates 327 moderately priced family apparel stores in 18 states: Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia and West Virginia.
