Grocery Chain CEO Posts $10K Reward for Armed Robbers

John Catsimatidis, the billionaire CEO of the Gristedes (New York) grocery store chain, is offering a $10,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest of two people who robbed one of his stores, the New York Daily News reports.

The robbers made off with $3300 from a Gristedes location in Manhattan after they bound two store workers with zip ties and held them at gunpoint, the article explains.

“Let one of their friends turn them in,” Catsimatidis said at a news conference announcing the reward. “Let one of their relatives turn them in. We’ve got to get rid of the crime on our streets.”

Crime in New York City, the article notes, has surged in 2022 thus far, jumping 44% compared to last year over the same time period.
