Half Price Books Launches New Venture

Half Price Books (Dallas) CEO Sharon Anderson has launched a new retail venture, Rooster Home & Hardware (Dallas). The company launched as a 14,000-square-foot eco-friendly hardware store in Dallas that specializes in urban farming, beekeeping, live chickens and supplies, and local products.

Anderson acquired the company after buying the assets of True Value Gecko Hardware and renaming the store as well as rebranding it as an old-fashioned five-and-dime meets hip gift store featuring local handmade products.

The store is positioned to appeal to urban farmers and “‘the Airstream hardware kind of crowd,’” Anderson told the The Dallas Morning News
