New Heytea Zao Shop Redefines the Tea-Drinking Experience

AIMING TO INJECT timeless architecture and charm into the space, designers from CCD (Hong Kong) sought to add a sense of depth to Heytea’s Nantou location in Shenzhen. Connecting the interior to the outdoor space is a large floating “table” that protrudes toward the street, beckoning passersby to sip tea and chat or sit on the nearby stairs – staggered and reminiscent of a lecture hall. Inside, a red staircase connects levels amongst a dark red and white color palette. Along with balconies on each floor of the compact 646-square-foot space, a rooftop garden allows for more gatherings and dwell time.
