Home Depot Names Menear Ceo

Home Depot Inc. (Atlanta) named company veteran Craig Menear its new chief executive last Thursday. Menear, who will assume his new post in November, will be the third ceo after founders Bernie Marcus and Arthur Blank retired, according to the The Wall Street Journal.

He succeeds Frank Blake, 65, and is expected to focus on Home Depot’s e-commerce platforms.

Menear, 57, joined Home Depot in 1997 as a merchant in the chain's Southwest division. He moved on to oversee the company's online business, as well as its merchandising, private-brand, global-sourcing and marketing operations.
