Japanese fashion brand Issey Miyake illuminates its New York flagship with “Uros,” a temporary light sculpture installation by Peruvian artist Grimanesa Amorós. Inspired by the islands off the coast of Peru, these bubble-like forms rise from the floor to reflect the organic elegance of sea foam and totora reeds.

Issey Miyake not only acts as a retail store, but as a laboratory and atelier for up-and-coming and established artists. The retailer also features a titanium sculpture by artist Frank Gehry that winds its way through the space.

“Uros” was on display from November 14, 2011 through January 14, 2012.
