Trendy denim brand Joe’s Jeans has opened its newest branded store in the Bucktown neighborhood of Chicago.

“We want these stores to be cool places to go to,” says Katie Hurley, vp, retail and marketing. “So our environment is not just about the brand and the merchandise. It’s about all the things that would appeal to our customer.” Things like Oliver People’s eyewear, vintage art and coffee table books about noted designers (Vivienne Westwood, Hedi Slimane, Helmut Newton, etc.), jewelry from local artists, selections from the AreaWare catalog and merchandise from Gag & Lou, the hip French jeweler.

The store is a visual incarnation of a Joe’s Jeans billboard, with lots of interesting graphics and a clean, modular rack and shelving system.

“Our target shopper is art students to art collectors,” says Hurley, “someone of any age who appreciates quality and style and has a creative outlook.”
