Juicy Couture Closing Shops

Authentic Brands Group (New York) has announced the closing of all U.S. Juicy Couture stores. ABG, a licensing company, purchased Juicy Couture in 2013 from its parent organization, Fifth and Pacific Companies/Kate Spade & Company (New York). ABG has entered into an agreement with Kohl’s Department Stores (Menomonee Falls, Wis.) to sell Juicy Couture-branded products starting this Fall.

Kohl’s will be sole retailer for Juicy Couture going forward. In recent years, the brand was dropped by Lord & Taylor and Bergdorf Goodman and cut back significantly at Saks Fifth Avenue, Nordstrom and Neiman Marcus, according to Business Insider. The brand was launched in 1997 and grew in popularity by 2003 after becoming associated with celebrities such as Madonna and Jennifer Lopez.
