Kohl’s Rolls Out In-Store Pickup

After a 100-unit test of its buy online/pick up in store service conducted last year, Kohl’s (Menomonee Falls, Wis.), rolled out the program to all of its 1164 stores last week.

According to Chain Store Age, customers shopping online can choose to see if an item is available at their chosen store. If it is, they can select the “pick up in store” option when purchasing the item. The customer is sent an email notification – usually within hours – when the item is available for pick-up. Kohl’s has dedicated parking spaces with “buy online/pick up in store” signs so that customers can quickly make their way to the customer service counter, where their purchase is waiting.

Kohl’s says that while the service is offered only through its standard web platform, it will be available for customers shopping on tablets and mobile phones later this year.
