STORE OPENINGS
Louis Vuitton has opened its first Italian maison in central Rome. The three-story Maison Louis Vuitton Rome Etoile is located in one of Rome’s most iconic movie theaters, the Etoile, the city’s first cinema, which closed in 1991. The structure was built in 1907 in in Lucina Square and features a neoclassic façade and bas-reliefs, which were restored by Vuitton and longtime collaborator architect Peter Marino, reports Women’s Wear Daily.

OBITUARY
Jairo “Jay” Camelo, 41, a senior architect at New York-based Michael Neumann Architecture, died in a traffic-related accident. He is survived by his wife Semra and 3-year-old son Kaan.
