Madewell, ThredUp Launch Resale Popup

Online reseller thredUp (Oakland, Calif.) has partnered with J.Crew-owned Madewell (New York) to open a popup in Brooklyn to sell used Madewell clothing, reports The Wall Street Journal. The physical store is an extension of the brands’ Madewell Forever web site, which sells used denim.

The popup, dubbed “A Circular Store” and located inside a Madewell men’s store, will sell used jackets, dresses, T-shirts and other apparel through Oct. 31. Shoppers can also bring clothing in to be mended and attend in-store educational classes to learn how to repair their own clothing.

“The entire experience is structured with education at the forefront,” said Derek Yarbrough, chief marketing officer of J.Crew and Madewell.
