Major Beacon Rollout for Macy’s

Macy’s (Cincinnati) stores will roll out beacon technology at its stores nationwide in time for the upcoming holiday season. The widespread installation comes after last year’s test of the technology at Macy’s flagship stores in New York and San Francisco.

The company will utilize more than 4000 of the devices, which communicate with shoppers via their mobile devices. The beacons send messages, including department-level deals, discounts, rewards and product recommendations to users who have installed the Macy’s app.
