Marc Jacobs Confirms LVMH Exit

As expected, Marc Jacobs will leave LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton S.A. (Paris) to launch an initial public offering of his own Marc Jacobs brand.

LVMH chairman and ceo Bernard Arnault and Jacobs confirmed what had been a rumor for several days.

Jacobs’ successor at Vuitton has not been named, nor has a decision been made, though Women’s Wear Daily says that “strong indicators continue to point to Nicolas Ghesquière as the frontrunner.”
Jacobs’ contract with Vuitton was set to expire at the end of this year, after 16 successful years as its lead designer.
