To meet the growing demand for sustainable retail signage, Neenah launches NEENAH IMAGEMAX® Signage, a 100% paper-based alternative to styrene

Neenah today announced the introduction of NEENAH IMAGEMAX® Signage, an all-new 100% paper-based, 100% blue bin recyclable wide format product. NEENAH IMAGEMAX Signage is designed for applications such as hanging signage, point of purchase & point of sales signs, shelf-talkers, and directional signage. This latest addition to Neenah’s already expansive environmental offering is precisely engineered to the highest sustainability standards and accepts a wide variety of design and printing techniques that styrene cannot.

“We know that designers are creating it all, from websites and social media to product packaging and business cards to wide format solutions for retail, hospitality, or convention environments. As a consumer moves from online to offline, the marketing collateral, advertising, and promotions must be eye-catching and consistent. For many brands today, that includes a reduction of their environmental impact and footprint,” says Jeremy Frank, Director of Sales and Marketing, Wide Format and Emerging Categories for Neenah.

NEENAH IMAGEMAX Signage is designed for maximum sustainability, quality, and performance, including:

•       100% paper-based, 100% recyclable alternative to styrene
•       94% brightness for clearer, longer-lasting image reproduction that won’t yellow
•       Dead white for double-sided printing with no show-through
•       Ink absorption which allows for exemplary printing without banding
•       No fingerprints as paper-based composition does not capture oils

“With its environmental benefits, NEENAH IMAGEMAX Signage is superior to styrene alternatives both on press and for business, retail, hospitality, and event solutions. NEENAH IMAGEMAX Signage is a wide format solution that is an environmentally friendly alternative to styrene, which also meets the standards of durability and quality that designers and printers are accustomed to in Neenah products. It is the best of both worlds- beauty without compromise,” continued Frank.

These new products are showcased in an innovative new visual reference tool that is also available now. This tool is created using real-world UV printing conditions to show how NEENAH IMAGEMAX Signage is a responsible replacement for styrene while elevating print quality for brands. The promotion features printed samples of each caliper of NEENAH IMAGEMAX paper-based signage alongside a styrene sheet showing special treatments such as white ink, contour cutting, creasing, and challenging printing scenarios like solid gray and gradients.

“The purpose of this reference tool is to allow people to see and feel NEENAH IMAGEMAX Signage side-by-side with styrene. You are quickly able to compare whiteness and brightness, print fidelity, tooling capabilities, and much more. Creating this tool allowed us to test and prove that NEENAH IMAGEMAX paper-based signage outperforms styrene signage. Now customers can see it for themselves. “We have already had success with global brands using NEENAH IMAGEMAX Signage in recent marketing campaigns,” says Frank.

“We’re looking forward to more brands gaining the benefits of choosing environmentally conscious signage as part of their overall marketing and environmental strategies,” continued Frank.
