Mexico Clicks InJoint venture will put computer kiosks in 150 storesStores throughout Mexico are about to be equipped with Internet kiosks that will sell low-cost computers packaged with an Internet connection service and computer classes in Mexico's largest chain of computer schools. The kiosks, provided by Todito.com – an Internet portal and marketplace for North American Spanish-speakers – will go into 150 Elektra stores. Grupo Elektra, S.A. de C.V., is Latin America's leadingspecialty retailer (as well as consumer finance company). The placement of Todito-branded kiosks in Elektra stores is part of the five-year strategic alliance signed between the two companies in May 2000,which also covers on-line promotion and e-commerce support.
The kiosks are Todito branded. All the equipment for sale is from Todito. And qualified customers making their purchases, of the computer and Internet packages, can finance the deal through Elektra's credit program.
