Microsoft to Open Two New Stores … and More

A spokesman from Microsoft Corp. (Redmond, Wash.) has confirmed that the company will open two new stores, in Denver and San Diego.

Moss, Inc. (Elk Grove Village, Ill.) has appointed Bob Frey to the position of executive vp, research and development.

Halco Lighting Technologies (Norcross, Ga.) has hired Stephanie Weaver as the new Western Region sales manager and moved Grayson Planck to the newly created South Central Region.

Lighting Services Inc. (Stony Point, N.Y.) has named Gordon Pevzner its regional sales manager for the Eastern United States.

The Association for Retail Environments’ (Hollywood, Fla.) A.R.E. University is launching its new e-learning course, “LEED Green Associate Studies for Retail Environments Professionals,” with a live webinar module April 6. The seven-module course guides professionals in the retail environments industry in studying to obtain today’s fastest-growing LEED-related professional credential.

Atluglas International (Bristol, Pa.), makers of Plexiglas acrylic sheet products, unveiled its Plexiglas Designer Gallery iPhone app at GlobalShop 2010 last month. The app allows retail designers, architects and industrial designers to digitally carry the line of Plexiglas color samples on an iPhone and save their favorites for easy retrieval. Designers also have access to color specifications, product families, color types, size and thickness availability, as well as and the ability to share a color at the touch of a button.
