Nevamar Co.'s 'High Mileage' Countertop Contest™

Nevamar Co. (Odenton, Md.), a leading manufacturer of high-pressure laminates and other surfacings, announces the “High Mileage” Countertop Contest™. The company is on a mission to find countertops that have been around the block way too often and plans to award prizes to the “worst of the worst.”

Explains Todd Vogelsinger, Nevamar Group Brand Manager: “We're looking far and wide for the absolute worst looking, worn-out countertops and surfaces we can find. Maybe it's a table in an old diner, the checkout stand at the local convenience store or the countertop in your own home. You see these eyesores everyday, and there's just no reason for it.” According to Vogelsinger, any type of work surface is eligible, including laminate, stone or tile.

The contest was developed by Nevamar to showcase the benefits of its exclusive Armored Protection™ finish offered in its line of high-pressure laminates. The company says Armored Protection provides more than two-and-one-half times the wear value of the industry standard for laminates. “The added advantage of Armored Protection keeps Nevamar surfaces look newer longer — a major benefit to home and business owners,” says Vogelsinger.

Contest rules and the entry form can be found by logging on to www.nevamar.com/contest. The deadline for submissions is Nov. 15, 2003. A panel of construction and design industry professionals will judge all entries, with the winners selected Dec. 15, 2003. Each winner will receive a Nevamar laminate countertop worth up to $1500 or the cash equivalent.

Nevamar Co. is a diversified manufacturer of decorative surface products, including high-pressure laminates, low-pressure melamine panels, metal laminates and other decorative surfaces and panels used in commercial and residential interiors, store fixtures, furnishings and graphic arts.
