Nike Opens East LA Community Store

Nike Inc. (Beaverton, Ore.) has opened its first California Community Store in East Los Angeles This is the sixth store of this type for the company, which emphasizes direct-to-consumer sales.

Women’s Wear Daily reports that the community store model also works to increase community involvement through local hiring practices and serving organizations like the Boys and Girls Clubs of East LA.

Existing Community Stores are located in Portland, Ore.; Chicago; New Orleans; New York; and Washington, D.C.
