Seattle-based Nordstrom Inc. will open a Nordstrom Rack in Manchester, Mo., a suburb of St. Louis, next year.
The 35,000-square-foot store is scheduled to open in fall 2012 and will carry on-trend merchandise from Nordstrom stores and Nordstrom.com at discount prices. Construction of the store will begin immediately, according to Mark Sedgwick, managing director of St. Louis-based Pace Properties, which will develop and own the building where the new Nordstrom Rack store will be located.
The Manchester store will mark the second Rack location in the greater St. Louis area. Nordstrom also operates a full-line store at West County Center and will open another full-line store at Saint Louis Galleria mall this month.
“We are delighted to welcome another great shopping destination to the City of Manchester,” says Sedgwick. “The customer traffic generated by Nordstrom Rack will contribute to the continued success of existing tenants just as its presence will further enhance the premier retail mix in the trade area.”
Nordstrom operates 219 stores in 30 states, including 116 full-line stores, 99 Nordstrom Racks, two Jeffrey boutiques, one treasure&bond store and one clearance store.
