Office Depot-OfficeMax Merger Names New Ceo

Roland Smith, most recently ceo of food retailer Delhaize America LLC, has been named chairman and ceo of the new company that will emerge as the result of the merger between Office Depot Inc. (Boca Raton, Fla.) and OfficeMax Inc. (Naperville, Ill.).

Smith had also been ceo of Wendy’s Co. (Columbus, Ohio).

At the time the merger was finalized, on November 5, Office Depot ceo Neil Austrian and OfficeMax ceo Ravi Saligram were named co-ceo’s. Both executives have now resigned.
