On Our Radar: +J by Jil Sander, Global Rollout

Inspired by the transitory nature of popup spaces, the +J capsule collection by Jil Sander shop-in-shop display was designed by architecture firm Gabellini Sheppard (New York) to be flatpacked, shipped and assembled on site at Uniqlo flagship locations globally.

A series of curved, freestanding partitions serve to guide the shopper through the experience, which designers describe as “a shopping paradise of modern essentials.” Stretched white scrim fabric at the atrium thresholds defines the boundaries between Uniqlo and the +J space. Translucent graphic screens positioned around the perimeters of the escalators helps reinforce a sense of privacy while providing billboard space for promotional visuals.
