Princeton, NJ— Opiary, a Princeton-based green design studio, will show a series of new terraformed products at NY NOW®, August  17-20, 2014. Indoor-outdoor furniture, green walls, large and small planters and accessories, ideal for residential, commercial, retail, and hospitality settings, will be on view at The Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York, booth #4163.
Handmade by a skilled team of American artists and artisans, Opiary’s unique sculptural creations integrate inhabitable landscapes with manmade forms and systems reconnecting physical nature and modern culture. With built-in irrigation systems, the company’s green walls, elegant furniture pieces, and lightweight, weather resistant planters are easily installed and virtually maintenance-free.
At NY NOW® Opiary will showcase a selection of new introductions and perennial favorites, including the new Drillium line of indoor-outdoor furniture, the classics-inspired Eero and Queen Anne table lines, the vertical wallscapes, and an array of elegant modern planters, perfect for making a green statement indoors and out.
The modern Terraform Eero Table Line, comprised of a series of green tables, offers a fresh take on the iconic Tulip table. The base is made from a robust lightweight ferrocement, the tables feature a large planted area with a round glass, wood, or stone-top hovering over it pierced in the center by the landscape below.

Queen Anne Table is a green modern take on a classic design. Stylish enough for the dining room and durable enough for the terrace/garden, this handmade table can be used indoors or out year round and features signature pockets to be planted with local flora. Made from a robust and lightweight ferrocement with various top options, it can be made with or without irrigation lines and is designed to require little to no maintenance. The hand polished ferrocement has a mellow suede-like feel that is a delight to see and touch. Queen Anne tables are available in standard sizes and can be made in custom dimensions and with extension leaves.

Drillium Chair is a breakthrough design for Opiary, which takes cues from both aircraft construction and bones. Constructed of a galvanized steel armature coated with multiple layers of increasingly fine resin fortified cement, Drillium features clean, sensual forms and is weather resistant. Designed to cradle comfortably people of any size, the chair, like all Opiary creations, has pockets for living plants such as succulents and mosses.

Wallscape is Opiary's artistic interpretation of a green wall, balancing the natural with the manmade elements. Each piece is one of a kind and fully customizable. The exceptional strength and durability of the materials are weather proof, perfect for year-round use indoors and out.

Opiary’s Terrain Planters are plant containers formed from simple organic lines that mimic topographical contours. Durable, but relatively lightweight, the planters are constructed from galvanized steel armature and coated with increasingly fine resin fortified cement which is polished to a smooth suede finish. They are weather proof and rust resistant making them perfect for year-round use, indoors and out. The planters make an elegant, modern statement in country gardens, patios, or city rooftops.

About Opiary:
In 1996, American sculptor/inventor Robert Cannon began creating a body of work with the goal of reconnecting physical nature and modern culture that he called Terraforms. The Terraforms are living sculptures that integrate inhabitable landscapes with man-made forms and systems. Furthering his passion for great design and his vision of indoor-outdoor living, he incorporated Opiary in 2012, as his green design lab and atelier.
Opiary works within the parameters of industrial design, architecture, landscape, and modern art. Collaborating with top stores, designers, architects, galleries, and fine craftsmen, Opiary is dedicated to producing hand-made terraformed products with an extreme attention to detail.  All Opiary furniture, containers, wallscapes and sculpture are hand-built in the workshop in Princeton using strong, thin, recyclable, weather- resistant cement and metal shells, which are later filled with soil and planted. The pieces are available in variety of finishes, and custom orders are always welcome.
